EAsT CAMPUS 2023 fORT:

My dorm, East Campus, has a tradition of creating a massive construction project to introduce freshmen to our culture. I led the design and construction of this year’s 3 story castle-fort, guillotine, climbing wall, and two rides.

The planning phase of this project started in January, where I worked with a small team of students to design the structures, calculate that they could safely hold people, and get approval from MIT and a structural engineering firm. The actual construction happened over the course of 3 weeks in August, during which thousands of dollars of lumber were cut and assembled by a team of dozens of students, directed by me.

Here are some engineering drawings I created to guide the fort construction.
